Aah, vintage Paul Keating. I knew he couldn't maintain an air of dignified retirement for too long (''Keating lashes 'muesli-chewer' Barangaroo inquiry'', May 6).

Well, Paul, you are trying to be a Zegna-wearing, chardonnay-sipping, first-class, antique-French-clock-winding, 24-carat-gold cultural dictator.

You may have a personal vision for Sydney and you may well be a former prime minister, but this does not give you the right to impose this development on an unwilling public.

Enough. I'm taking my sandshoes off and going back to my toast, because I've just put the car back in the garage.
